I find that each day the Holy Spirit requires me to be more responsive to the voice of Jesus and to act quickly to His leadings and promptings.
Today as I looked at Hebrews:3:12 which says so search your hearts every day, my brothers and sisters, and make sure that none of you has evil or unbelief hiding within you.
For it will lead you astray, and make you unresponsive to the living God. The Holy Spirit reminded me of my responsibility to take the reign of my heart daily and look to see if there is any evil or unbelief hiding within me that will make me unresponsive to the voice of God.
Sin has a peculiar way which is so deceitful and thrilling, offering quick easy results. So each day things happen that arise to question the truth and our hearts can be moved easily (because the lie looks so right and pleasing), to doubt what God says because facts seem to contradict the truth. Hebrews.12:1 & 2.
However we must remain steadfast and not allow temporary things to shake or make us unresponsive to the voice of the Lord. Things are never as they look at first glance. We need to pause before we respond. 1 Corinthians.15:58.
I was truly thankful that the Holy Spirit was concerned enough to cause me to look at anything that would or could compromise my union with Him and stop my flow in the Spirit. That is what the enemy wants us to do which we must resist.
My encouragement to you today is to look at your heart position daily and see whether any doubt or unbelief is creeping in that seeks to make you unresponsive to the voice of God. Then forcefully root it out quickly so there is no pause in your fellowship with the Lord.
Remember your spiritual journey is a daily walk not weekly or monthly one.It requires daily stewarding of our hearts for productive service in the Kingdom of Jesus.
May you find grace today in these words to empower you to be daily attentive to this truth in Jesus’ name. Amen.
