In Hebrews :2:1 we are told to give heed to the things we have heard lest we drift away. I find that on a daily basis the Holy Spirit continues to remind and refresh my heart and mind on things I know and He has taught me to enable me succeed.
Well today the Holy Spirit reminded me from Acts:3:16b of this phrase of Peter: It is the faith that comes through believing in Jesus’ name that has made the crippled man walk right in front of your eyes! Now he points out that faith comes through believing in Jesus Name.
I asked the Holy Spirit why we seem to struggle with faith when it comes through our believing.
We do believe I said but the Holy Spirit reminded me of Peter walking on the water believing Jesus and then suddenly beginning to sink. Matthew.14:29-31.
What was coming to Peter that made him now doubt that he could make it across to Jesus having started the journey in faith on the word of Jesus to come. He emphasised that as faith comes so does pride and so does fear and we have to choose, the Holy Spirit said which we heed at each given point in time.
Don’t think it strange that our faith can be strong one moment and we achieve much for Jesus but become weak the next moment and run away scared the next. Remember Elijah or Samson when they allowed what was coming against them to cause them to doubt Jesus’s ability to do what He said He will do on their behalf.
He reminded me that Jesus never changes His word so we can always rely on Him to come through and accomplish His word, however the other voices are what we should ignore or rebuke and steady our heart on what Jesus has said.
However we need to do this all the time, it’s not a one day/time event. We must be willing to stay connected to the Holy Spirit to keep us rooted in the truth of what Jesus commands. Ephesians.3:16-18. So today my beloved arise to the challenge and believe in the faith that comes through Jesus’ Name. Isaiah.60:1.
For all things are possible with God and like the woman with the issue of blood who kept saying to herself as I touch Him I will be healed, I will receive the promise, good things will happen for me and the impossible will turn to triumphant results. Mark.9:23.
You go ahead and say I believe Lord Jesus, and help any unbelief that is seeking to come and lead me astray in Jesus Name.
You will be stunned at how this change of mindset will improve your daily results with the Lord and increase much more your testimonies of victory.
Lay hold of this grace in this word coming to you today and experience God’s marvels in Jesus Name. Amen.
