During my communion time with the Holy Spirit, He spoke a solemn reminder about our goal setting, not from a human perspective, but from His own perspective which we need to imbibe.

While acknowledging that setting daily, monthly, and yearly goals is beneficial for progress and productivity, He revealed that there are two foundational goals which we must never drift from. These are not optional ambitions but spiritual lifelines that sustain our correct alignment with the Lord.

He directed my attention to Proverbs 3:21 from the Passion translation, which declares: “My child, never drift off course from these two goals for your life: to walk in wisdom and to discover your purpose.

Don’t ever forget how they empower you.” The Holy Spirit highlighted that although these goals are absolutely essential, followers of Jesus often neglect them, by drifting away from them and offering excuses for their inconsistency.

Let’s look at the first goal which is to walk in wisdom. To walk in wisdom firstly requires diligently seeking it which involves us spending time with the Lord focusing on His word. Wisdom is never gained casually or loosely; This is because it demands wholehearted commitment and the investment of precious time.

The Holy Spirit spoke clearly that we must seek the Lord daily for wisdom as did Jesus, to enable us to receive His instruction, and then adjust our actions to walk in obedience. Only then can wisdom be truly walked out in our hearts. Luke.2:52.

The Holy Spirit emphasized that no excuses of not having the time can alter this truth and only repentance for missing the mark restores our alignment when we drift off this goal.

The second goal is to discover and live out our God-given purpose. This involves us understanding the reason why we were born and the contribution the Lord intends for us to make to humanity.

This means we have to spend time with the Lord our Creator discovering the reason we are on earth. Regarding this second goal of discovering our purpose, the Holy Spirit revealed that purpose cannot be found apart from wisdom and relationship with the Lord.

He reminded me of what Jesus said in John 5:30 that, “The Son can do nothing on His own but what He sees the Father do.” Jesus we see from this scripture modelled complete dependence and alignment with the Father’s will through constant communion time with Him.

Though these may sound simple, the Holy Spirit explained that they require a deliberate and ongoing process of being in close relationship with the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit made it clear that the Lord desires more of our time spent seeking Him for life-giving wisdom rather than us chasing after temporary pursuits that inevitably fade into insignificance. The Lord always delights in being sought after. This is why our greatest desire in life should be a diligent pursuit of Him.

The Holy Spirit explained that as followers of Jesus we often begin in the Lord’s will when they first hear His direction, but over time drift into their own interpretations of that will for convenience sake due to the pressures of life and satanic attacks.

However the reality is that without daily “check-ins” to make the necessary adjustments, they can find themselves far off course and in danger,  being caught up in situations that could have been avoided through consistent daily inquiry of the Lord and walking in humility.

The Holy Spirit expressed a profound truth that we should never forget that the Lord desires for us to walk in His will even more than we desire it ourselves, but we must choose to love Him with all our hearts to come to Him as our total help and support. This is the responsibility and privilege of us having a free will.

The Holy Spirit referenced King David as an example who was beloved because he continually inquired of the Lord to know His Mind rather than presuming upon Him and acting prematurely. As a man after God’s own heart, David had answers because he asked them of the Lord and therefore received.

These two goals of walking in wisdom and discovering the purpose for our lives keep us as  followers of Jesus in complete union with the Lord and in step with His will in all things. Always  remember that true humility is total reliance on His counsel over our own discernment and knowledge or human experience.

I conclude this word with a heartfelt encouragement from the Holy Spirit to you to return to the place of prioritizing these goals in your life again. You can be assured that by doing so daily your outcomes in life will shift by moving you away from paths of shame and pain into paths of glory and abundant, outstanding miraculous results.

I pray that the Holy Spirit would awaken your hearts afresh to these wells of life and restore your alignment to walk in the fulfilment of these goals Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I declare in the Name of Jesus that you will no longer drift from these two lifelines of walking in wisdom and discovering your divine purpose here on earth. From this day forward your heart will hunger daily for the counsel of the Lord, and you will seek Him diligently without excuse.

I decree that as you inquire of Him more consistently, your steps will remain aligned with His will, and every necessary adjustment will be made in time to walk in triumph in all circumstances in Jesus name.

In Jesus name you will no longer wander off course through presumption or self-reliance but instead, you will walk in humility, by depending fully upon His voice. I decree that wisdom will govern your decisions, and your purpose in life will unfold with clarity and precision.

In the name of Jesus all shame and confusion will give way to greater glory and outstanding results as the wells of life prepared for you by the Lord will be reopened, and you will flourish in union with the Lord through the Holy Spirit  in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen.
