The Holy Spirit brought a strong yet loving encouragement by saying we must stop speaking words that create storms in your relationships. You may have been wondering why as your fellow brothers and sisters have about why having spent more time with the Lord and sensing spiritual growth and maturity, you seem to keep circling back into the same painful cycles of conflict with your spouse and children.
It appears that as momentum in the Spirit seems to build, the response ends up as another heated conversation which undoes all the progress and results in much condemnation. Unnecessary words are spoken out of frustration, causing storms of arguments to erupt, and the next thing is the old patterns of disappointment replaying themselves, contradicting the promise the Lord previously gave.
The Holy Spirit revealed that this cycle of pain is sustained by unnecessary speech because negative words spoken, even when provoked, activate renewed conflict and reopen old wounds.
The enemy always works through those closest to you, just as he used Peter in an attempt to divert Jesus from His mission, which prompted Jesus to say in the presence of Peter, “Get thee behind Me, Satan!” in Matthew 16:23. The lesson from the Holy Spirit is clear that most times the adversary leverages close proximity with trusted ones to provoke a negative reaction.
The remedy the Holy Spirit indicated was necessary is intentional mouth/words restraint by refusing to speak negatively, regardless of level of aggravation. The Holy Spirit said that If you fail in the moment and speak out of turn, the thing to do is to repent immediately.
Then quickly reverse the damage by replacing the destructive words spoken in anger with life-giving confessions aligned with what the Lord has spoken. It is always best to return quickly to your spiritual position of strength where your tongue is governed by God’s Word rather than your troubled emotions.
The Holy Spirit pointed to the situation with Job as a sobering example where in Job 3:1, Job began cursing his birth based on the events of the attack of satan on his life. His friends, who had previously sat in silence, then joined in with the cycle of negativity which intensified as Job’s words aligned with the state of despair, which only worsened and prolonged the conflict. The adversary had achieved what he desired which was an ongoing war of words with no resolution.
However, the narrative shifted in Job 32, when Elihu confronted the situation with the truth about the Lord. Then in Job 38, the Lord Himself intervened by speaking in a whirlwind by confronting Job with the true divine perspective, creating the opportunity for Job to recognize the error of his speech.
This enabled Job to repent of his folly, and ultimately experience his restoration which included him receiving double what he had before. What the enemy had intended for destruction in Job’s life became the platform of a deeper revelation of the majesty of the Lord and the rewards of greater blessing.
This revelation teaches us a vital principle concerning how we use our words because careless or negative speech can easily darken one’s path, by erecting personal roadblocks, and prolonging hardships which could have been avoided.
We must always remember Proverbs.18:21 which tells us clearly that our words either cooperate with life to inherit blessing or they partner with death leading to destruction. The Lord desires that you experience “days of heaven here on earth,” but repeated negative declarations can bind and hinder that expansion from happening in your lives.
The Holy Spirit therefore calls you today to awaken to righteousness by breaking all negative repetitive patterns of reaction which give the enemy room to hurt you. It is time to align your speech with what the Lord has said about you and your household.
With the boldness of the Holy Spirit bluntly refuse to echo the lies of the enemy and speak from a divine perspective in all things the Lord has declared concerning you, especially in difficult, trying times. By taking this positive action with your tongues, you disarm the adversary and invite back your total restoration, peace, and victory into your home.
May the abundant grace accompanying this word empower you to change course as courage arises within you to speak boldly and faithfully for the Lord. As your speech shifts from negativity to declaring what the Lord says concerning you all storms will cease, negative cycles will break, and victory will replace all results of repeated failure as your life brings glory to the Lord and puts the enemy’s schemes to shame by overwhelming testimonies of triumph in all areas of life.
It is the time to experience the ultimate outcome which is a transformed life of glory so evident that others will say you have been with Jesus, because all they see is His hand and seal upon you.
I declare in the mighty Name of Jesus that every storm that was activated by your careless words is silenced now and the cycle of repetition, frustration, and disappointment is broken over your household.
I declare that through this word your tongue is coming under the authority of the Holy Spirit to the point where you once reacted, you will now respond with wisdom. In places where you once spoke in anger, you will now speak life.
I declare that every rope the enemy has used to bind you through negative speech is cut off and the peace of Jesus will flood your relationships. Total restoration will replace strain and double blessing will arise where conflict once lingered.
I decree that the hand and seal of the Lord will be evident upon your life and family, and the storms that once defined you, will now testify instead to His transforming power working for you. Through this word you will speak life, as you walk in victory, and glorify the Name of the Lord in Jesus’ mighty Name. Amen.
