During my communion time with the Holy Spirit this morning, the Holy Spirit released a word from Colossians 3 that came with striking clarity and gripped my entire being. The Holy Spirit has so many ways of communicating truth to us and each method He chooses is designed to refocus our attention on what truly matters. The primary intent is to ensure that we are moving forward in step with His program for us rather than keeping us lagging behind in a place of complacency.
Through years of personal experience, the Holy Spirit has proven Himself continually to be the Perfect Mentor. The One Person who knows exactly what is needed at the precise moment it is needed, and who possesses the power to manifest that provision instantly for our benefit. My profound gratitude is raised to Jesus for the indescribable gift of the Holy Spirit, who guides us into all truth as promised in John 16:13, and who stands as our support, our help, and aid so we may succeed in life and glorify Christ in our actions and results in life.
The scripture the Holy Spirit quickened to me was Colossians 3:16 which reads these words: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
While many make the assumption that because Christ lives in them this command is automatic, the Holy Spirit illuminated a deeper reality that we must give permission to the Lord for the word of Christ to dwell in us richly. The responsibility rests with us and not with the Lord. This means that how we choose to interpret, value, and apply the word of Christ in our heart determines its impact it will have in our lives.
The Holy Spirit then drew my attention to Luke 4:24, and highlighted how easily familiarity and misperception of the truth can limit our reception of the revelation given to us leading to us experiencing deficient results . The word the Holy Spirit said can dwell “poorly” within the heart of a person, or be received mingled with foolishness, complaining, and negative speech, thus causing harm and bringing disrepute to Jesus’ name rather than freedom and deliverance.
Sadly, this is visible among followers of Jesus who do not allow the word to transform their inner person first in order that it works from within us meaning we know it which results in lasting fruit because we own the truth.
Conversely, it is our choice to let the word of Christ ( the Anointed One) dwell richly in us through our continual confession and persistent meditation of it until it truly lives, breathes, and operates through us. The Holy Spirit’s reminder is a summons for us to increase our confession and meditation on these truth realities, thereby creating greater room within us for Him to perform the word in and through us, as affirmed in Romans 10:10.
This requires an intentional daily self-denial of our desires by taking up the cross and following Jesus consistently. We cannot follow Christ while attempting to lead Him or to dictate to Him the path forward for our lives. We see here a central truth emerging pointing to the reality that how we respond to the word in our hearts today determines how deeply it will live and work in us today and in the future.
We must put greater value to the word of Christ living big in us above our daily necessities and much more than our food, clothing, or material provision because its riches far surpass all earthly resources.
Jesus Himself warned us in Mark.4:24 & 25 to take heed how we hear, teaching that the measure we use is what will be measured back to us. The value we assign to the word of the Anointed One Jesus determines the benefit we will receive from His word. If we do not permit His word to shape our daily decisions, it will not change our outcomes.
This is why the Holy Spirit wants it to be clear to us that we are the determiners of how much the word of Christ benefits us. If dissatisfaction exists in the results we are having from the word, the solution lies in us not the Lord altering how we value, confess, and meditate upon the Word of Christ to increase its potency within us.
This word carries the grace necessary to address present challenges and calls for a renewed zeal to allow the word of Christ to dwell richly within your hearts, so that the riches of Christ may begin to manifest more fully and comprehensively in our lives through the accompanying signs, wonders, and visible demonstrations of His power.
I will share further dimensions of this revelation that unfolded in this word from the Holy Spirit tomorrow to share the full revelation.
I declare in the mighty Name of Jesus that the word of Christ is taking a deep and rich root within your hearts and you are awakening to its true value. In Jesus name you will no longer treat the word of Christ casually or lightly in your hearts but you will esteem it above your natural provision, and as you confess and meditate upon it, so that it will live and breathe through you.
I decree that abundant grace is being released to you for today’s challenges and divine strength is rising within your hearts thus allowing the Holy Spirit to find greater room in you to perform the word of Christ (the Anointed One) with His burden removing, yoke destroying power to change your outcomes to triumph in life. I declare that your decisions will be shaped by truth and your speech will align with heaven’s words concerning you and your life will display the riches of Christ.
From this day forward, the word of Christ will dwell richly in you, and signs, wonders, and miraculous manifestations will follow you as evidence of Christ living mightily within you in Jesus’ mighty Name. Amen.
