During my communion time with the Holy Spirit, an important reminder was given to me about the questions that often exist quietly within the hearts of believers. These questions, though sometimes unspoken, can become troubling thoughts that linger in the mind and heart tending to leave us in place of wavering faith. If these questions are not addressed properly, they can develop into spiritual strongholds that weaken our trust in the Lord and delay or abort us manifesting the promises of God.

The Holy Spirit went on to reveal that many followers of Jesus carry these unresolved questions internally and even though they may not openly express them, they continue to ask them subconsciously. The Lord therefore desires that as followers of Jesus we should bring those questions openly before Him, voicing them in our prayer times and conversation with the Holy Spirit so that all uncertainty in the heart can be removed and our trust can rest fully on what the Lord has said.

When questions remain unanswered in the heart, they often create an atmosphere of doubt and internal conflict. This condition can lead to double-mindedness, a state that Scripture warns strongly against. As explained in James 1:6–8, we as followers of Jesus are instructed to ask God in faith without doubting, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. Such a person becomes double-minded and unstable, and Scripture warns that they should not expect to receive anything from the Lord and I know you don’t want to be in that position.

Because of this, our hearts total confidence in God’s character and ability is essential to walk in the manifestation of the Lord’s blessings. Our absolute trust in the Lord sustains us as believers during seasons of intense pressure when circumstances attempt to steal the Word that the Lord has spoken over their lives. This reality of resolving our doubts with the Lord is therefore far more beneficial for our daily spiritual stability than leaving those concerns unresolved within the heart which leads to losses.

The Holy Spirit also warned that the human heart can easily generate misleading thoughts or imagined explanations for events happening when their questions remain unanswered. The heart is capable of creating wrong narratives and fantasies, and the enemy is always ready to provide deceptive interpretations if they will lead a believer away from the path the Lord has prepared. For this reason, it is vital to allow the Holy Spirit to address questions directly and bring clarity and correction where needed to keep us being fruitful.

By bringing our concerns honestly before the Holy Spirit, we allow Him the liberty to confirm truth, adjust misunderstandings, and strengthen our heart alignment with the Lord’s promises. This process keeps us as followers of Jesus focused on the actions and responsibilities that matter rather than drifting aimlessly in fables and unnecessary conflicts or causing us to become distracted by uncertainty regarding the truth.

From my personal experience of using this principle when in moments of intense pressure, when situations appeared impossible to overcome and my faith felt strained, as the Holy Spirit was approached honestly with the admission of my weakness and doubt in my heart. Instead of hiding those struggles and difficulties, I pleaded with the Lord by asking for help in overcoming unbelief so that no rash decision or careless action would sabotage the outcome the Lord had intended.

The reality is that each time such honesty within myself was expressed, the Holy Spirit responded by supplying the necessary grace to see me through into triumph. Sometimes this came as greater perseverance and valiant determination to continue praying regardless of the negative circumstances, sometimes it came as wisdom that revealed an unexpected action that confounded the enemy, and often as a deep peace that remained steady despite overwhelming circumstances.

There was no single method through which the Holy Spirit always responded, but He consistently provided the answer needed to bring resolution and victory. This reflects the nature and character of the Holy Spirit as described by Jesus in John 14, where He is revealed as the Helper sent to guide and assist us to walk in truth.

The Holy Spirit possesses the complete knowledge and understanding of every situation, including the hidden strategies of the enemy. Because of this foreknowledge He possesses, He can neutralize those hidden plans and guide us safely through any form of danger.

Scripture provides several examples of the Lord’s supernatural intervention through His Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that protected Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace when they refused to bow to pressure to bow to the statue Nebuchadnezzar had created and were thrown into a furnace heated seven times hotter than normal. However despite the intense fiery flames, they emerged unharmed after being thrown into the furnace.

Similarly, the Lord provided food for Elijah during a time of famine by directing ravens to bring him food each day. God also demonstrated His power in the life of Daniel, where lions that could have destroyed him when he was thrown into their den. However they became harmless companions while he remained in their den because of his faithfulness to the Lord.

These examples demonstrate that the Holy Spirit holds every possible solution to every challenge a believer could ever face. However, as followers of Jesus we must be willing to ask for His help and guidance. We should never hesitate to seek His counsel regarding what to do or how to respond in difficult situations.

At the same time, we as His followers must be cautioned not to assume or predict what the Holy Spirit will say. Instead, we should wait patiently for His answer because oftentimes His guidance may be completely different from what we initially expected. Presumption can hinder hearing His voice, but our humility and patience create the space for His wisdom to be revealed to us.

I conclude today’s word by encouraging you as followers of Jesus to bring every question before the Holy Spirit so that your hearts may be settled in confidence and assurance when calling on the Lord. True faith is not blind assumption or presumption but rather, great faith is the confident knowledge that Jesus has authored the promise and will certainly bring it to fulfilment.

The Holy Spirit will always remain present to help followers of Jesus to inherit everything Jesus intends for them to experience and accomplish on earth for His glory. As you embrace this reality and learn to depend on the Holy Spirit’s guidance, your lives will be transformed dramatically through the grace that flows from this relationship.

In the name of Jesus, every hidden question that has troubled your heart will now be brought into the light of the Holy Spirit so that where doubt attempted to grow, clarity of vision will now arise to replace it. Where uncertainty of your authority in Christ sought to create double-mindedness, the Lord will establish your confidence and faith in the ability of Jesus working in you.

The Holy Spirit will guide you with wisdom which goes beyond human understanding. He will then expose to you the strategies of the enemy, by dismantling every plan formed against you, and lead you safely through every trial and challenge to the place of triumph.

I decree that your heart will rest securely in the promises Jesus has spoken over your life and faith will replace fear, assurance will replace confusion, and peace will guard your mind and spirit in the knowledge of the Lord.

As you seek the counsel of the Holy Spirit and trust His guidance, you will experience breakthroughs that testify to the power and faithfulness of the Lord. Your life will become a living testimony that Jesus fulfils every promise He authors, and through your journey His name will be glorified in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
