The Holy Spirit this morning wants me to share with you a secret about the importance of your heart not being troubled or disturbed regardless of what you face or encounter in your life experience. This is because whatever stand your heart takes will determine the course you follow and the final outcome in any given situation.
This morning the Holy Spirit wants me to share from John.14:1-4 which reads: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house there are many mansions; if it were not so, ]I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
Firstly we see here that Jesus points out that we have control over our hearts actions and reactions. Jesus points out clearly that we must not allow our hearts to be troubled which means our hearts cannot just be troubled arbitrarily. We have to make a choice on how our heart responds to any given situation. So if your heart is troubled you allowed the wrong influence to have the effect of troubling you.
Jesus from this word expects us not to permit our hearts to be troubled because it is likely that we will make rash decisions that will cost us much from a troubled, concerned, worried heart. “This truth is vital to our very existence because nothing can make your heart react except you allow it in your heart.”
“You are the person responsible for how your heart responds to situations that arise in life.”
The disciples of Jesus are about to experience something completely different in regard to their Master that they had never seen happen before. Jesus was going to surrender Himself to be killed by crucifixion which demonstrated a defeat in the natural.
From the time they started following Jesus they had never seen Him defeated in any situation or arrested before so this was going to trouble their hearts because He was going to die and leave them.
What was going to become of them because they had invested everything they had of their hearts and life to trust Him and follow His way of life. However now He was going to die and leave them orphaned.
Jesus was clearly pointing out to them before the event that though they did not understand what was happening, seemingly contrary to the plan of God they should not let this situation rob their hearts of peace.
This is because they should rely on His character and nature which they had experienced and known fully who they trusted and had given their hearts over to would remain faithful and would certainly come through for them even in a situation involving death because He had already said it to them. I will be raised on the third day.
“This heart stance is what the Holy Spirit expects us to have in every situation no matter what is happening because it clearly proves our complete dependence in heart on God and total reliance on what He has said.”
“The Lord wants us to trust Him with all our heart and not lean in anyway on our own understanding.”Proverbs.3:5 & 6.
This reality of our heart trust will always be tested by God so we know exactly what is in our hearts. Our life results will be dependent on how our hearts respond to situations which will rise up against the knowledge of God. Whether we are troubled in heart and fall to our lower self or refuse to be moved in heart by still believing will determine our outcome of victory or defeat.
In life you will face situations that will speak contrary to God’s plan for your life however you have the control as to how your heart chooses to respond in that situation. The Holy Spirit wants you to realize that you need not allow your heart to be troubled but to rest in the infallible and immutable will of God which will never lie with you coming out victorious and triumphant with another demonstration of the awesomeness of God’s power working on your behalf.
So today as you hear these words concerning your heart choice submit to the grace that enables you to say I trust. Then refuse on purpose to let your heart be troubled by boldly declaring I am coming out triumphant because my heart trusts implicitly in the Lord. That is my choice and faith stand come high water, low water or no water at all. “My heart chooses not to be troubled.”
“ This truth will keep you in a place of stability of heart in the Lord which is necessary to win in life. Then remember the words of Mary to the servant at the wedding feast in Canaan: whatever Jesus says to do just do it and all will be well no matter what.”John.2:5.
So remove every troubling thing in your heart and rest your heart fully on the knowledge of God who says worry not and see how life circumstances shift for you as you regain your position in life again in Jesus name. Amen.
