This is the concluding message on the revelation of the voice of the Lord which is both a warning and an invitation into deeper purity, accuracy, and confidence in hearing the Lord speak. It begins with a prayer that all who receive these words will experience deliverance and come into an absolute confidence in the voice of the Lord as the true guide for their lives and forward movement.
A foundational truth is established that everything spoken in the name of the Lord, whether prophecy or instruction is meant solely to glorify Jesus, and never the individual. The voice of the Lord we carry is not our own, but it is received by revelation from the Holy Spirit. We are merely vessels and spokespersons, and not the originators of these words.
To assume ownership or seek personal glory from the voice of the Lord is to step into the same error that led to satan’s fall, as he attempted to exalt himself above God. This is why humility is essential, as emphasised in Mark 4:10 and further reinforced by the exhortation in 1 Peter 5:6 to remain under the Lord’s mighty hand, by allowing Him alone to bring elevation in due time.
This message strongly warns of the many counterfeit influences that seek to imitate the voice of the Lord. These include deceptive teachings, false spiritual “curriculums,” misleading dreams, and even voices from individuals claiming prophetic authority.
The enemy uses such means to distort truth, weaken discernment, and ultimately lead followers of Jesus away from the Lord’s best. This aligns with Ephesians 4:14–15, which cautions us against being tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine, but instead calls for us as followers of Jesus to grow and mature in truth.
A sobering biblical example from 1 Kings 13, was used by the Holy Spirit to drive home the consequences of ignoring the voice of the Lord where a young prophet, despite initially hearing correctly from the Lord, was deceived by an older prophet and disobeyed the Lord’s direct instruction which resulted in his death.
This illustrates the critical importance of obeying the Lord’s voice above all others, regardless of the source’s experience or authority. The message reinforces that every revelation we receive will be tested, thus revealing whether we truly live by the Spirit or whether we merely speak to impress others.
There is a clear admonition for us never to act or speak by the Holy Spirit with the intention of impressing people. This is because doing so only leads to failure and spiritual consequences unless it is corrected through repentance. The Holy Spirit’s role, as stated in John 16:14–15, is always to glorify Jesus, and our lives must reflect that same purpose.
This message then calls for our continual closeness with the Lord, so allowing the Spirit of truth to minister the Word and guide us into all truth, as seen in Acts 13:1–3. It highlights the danger of divination, which can appear truthful but always contains subtle deception. Only the Holy Spirit can reveal these hidden lies, making intimacy with Him essential for discernment.
This word from the Holy Spirit reminded me of some practical examples with ministers which I share to expose false spiritual experiences. One account describes a minister who believed a bird visiting his window after a fast was a divine encounter, yet that situation carried no instruction from the Holy Spirit, no direction, or any alignment with the Lord’s Word which reveals it as a deception from the enemy.
Another example involved a man claiming he had dreams of ministry without any true revelation of Christ and His work and no transformation in his life by these so called divine events.
Through questioning this gentleman it became evident that the experience lacked spiritual substance, direction, and scriptural grounding, which exposes it as false. These examples emphasise that genuine encounters with the Lord will always produce clarity, direction, and a deeper pursuit of Him.
The message provides a vital safeguard to always seek the Lord for the meaning of any supernatural experience you receive and ensure it is confirmed through His Word. The Holy Spirit desires to establish us as followers of Jesus in truth that is consistent, verifiable, and life-producing.
A fresh call to repentance and realignment follows from the Holy Spirit urging us as followers of Jesus to allow the Holy Spirit to expose and remove all errors in our belief systems, mindsets, and interpretations that hinder us hearing clearly.
As these are surrendered, the Holy Spirit will restore purity and holiness in our communication with the Lord, by bringing us as followers of Jesus back into a place of clarity, intimacy, and manifestation through the voice of the Lord.
Finally, this message encourages the ongoing growth in us hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit through daily communion. This reality is not a one-time experience but a continuous process of development, refinement, and deepening relationship with the Holy Spirit.
Today, I declare in the name of Jesus that every veil of confusion, deception, and error surrounding the voice of the Lord in your life is being removed and your spiritual ears are being purified, as your heart is aligned with truth.
I declare that you will walk in humility, by giving all the glory to Jesus, and never taking ownership of what belongs to Him. I decree that every counterfeit voice, false influence, and deceptive experience is being exposed and silenced by the Spirit of truth from your life.
In the name of Jesus you will discern clearly between what is from the Lord and what is not, and you will walk in unwavering obedience to His voice above all others. The Holy Spirit is restoring purity, holiness, and accuracy in your hearing, and you will once again experience the clarity and power of His direction in your life.
From this day forward I declare that you will grow continuously in intimacy with the Holy Spirit, and your life will manifest the truth, power, and glory of Jesus in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
