This message flows from a powerful moment in my communion time with the Holy Spirit, centred on the truth revealed in Proverbs 23:7 from the passion translation which reads these words: “Don’t allow the actions of evil men to cause you to burn with anger.

Instead, burn with unrelenting passion as you worship God in holy awe.” Though I have meditated on this scripture before, the Holy Spirit unveiled a deeper, clearer, more life-transforming insight in our time.

The central point to this revelation is a call to refuse anger as a response to the actions of evil people. No matter how personal, painful, or unjust their actions may seem, we as followers of Jesus are instructed not to react in anger to their solicitations.

The Holy Spirit revealed that such evil actions are often designed specifically to provoke an angry response from us, because yielding to that anger leads us to take the wrong actions, which ultimately results in defeat for us as followers of Jesus.

The Holy Spirit exposed this tactic as a deliberate strategy of the kingdom of darkness with the intention to hinder the manifestation of light, by causing the follower of Jesus to stumble, which positions us in a place where we are robbed of victory.

The message acknowledges the fact that even when the Lord expressed anger at the persistent evil in humanity, as seen in Genesis 6:5–7, where the continual wickedness of man grieved His heart.

However, the emphasis of the Lord was that while evil exists and cannot always be stopped, one’s personal response to it remains a choice and a responsibility which we must consider before lashing out. You may not control the actions of others, but you can certainly control whether those actions cause you to fall into sin.

This realisation brings personal freedom to us especially in our response to a real-life question about why evil seems so widespread and unavoidable. The answer is not found in trying to eliminate all evil by force, but in choosing a different response to it.

So instead of allowing anger to take root in our hearts, we the followers of Jesus are called to redirect that emotional energy into something holy and powerful which is an unrelenting passion for worshipping the Lord in deeper reverence and awe.

This principle is vividly illustrated in Acts 16, where Paul and Silas, after being unjustly beaten and imprisoned for doing good, refused to respond in anger or bitterness. Instead, they turned their situation into an opportunity for passionate praise and prayer.

Their response triggered the Lord’s divine intervention with an earthquake that shook the prison, and their chains were broken. This action resulted in the jailer and his household being saved, and ultimately where their dignity was publicly restored by the authorities. The Lord honoured their response with supernatural victory and restoration.

The word calls for us as followers of Jesus to embrace this same pattern in our lives of choosing worship over anger, and faith over negative reaction. This is to prevent us from forfeiting the Lord’s plan for our lives through emotional responses.

It is an invitation from the Holy Spirit to live way above the traps of the enemy by transforming moments of provocation into encounters with the Lord that change negative circumstances by bringing forth miraculous interventions which expand the Kingdom of Jesus.

Today, in the name of Jesus may every trap set by the enemy to provoke you into anger be broken off your life. May the Holy Spirit empower you to rise above every evil action intended to harm you by granting you the grace to respond with wisdom, understanding, and deeper worship of the Lord.

I declare that where the enemy sought to defeat you through negative reactions, the Lord will give you victory through your surrender to his way of doing things. I decree that as you turn every moment of undue demonic pressure into praise moments, may heaven respond on your behalf with supernatural intervention, deliverance, and restoration which startles your enemies.

In Jesus name you will not be robbed any more of supernatural outcomes because you will triumph over all evil that seeks to exalt itself above the knowledge of the Lord. I declare that your life will reflect the glory of the Lord continually as you walk in holy awe and unrelenting passion for Him in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
