Today I share Part One of my communion time with the Holy Spirit concerning the importance of always being cheerful.

The Holy Spirit spoke in my communion time about the importance of us deliberately choosing to remain cheerful regardless of the circumstances we find ourselves in. Our Cheerful countenance is not to be determined by what is happening around us but by what is governing us from within. Proverbs 15:13 establishes the connection between the condition of the heart and the expression of joy by saying these words: “A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance.”

This points to the central lesson is that no situation in life should determine how we respond or react to it because greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. 1 John.4:4. Life events are never meant to become the masters of our conduct.

We may not be able to choose what happens to us in life, but we can choose how we respond to what happens. 2 Corinthians 5:7 reminds us that we walk by faith and not by sight, while 2 Corinthians 4:18 teaches us to fix our attention not on the things that are seen, which are temporary, but on the things that are unseen, which are eternal.

Therefore, our spiritual maturity is demonstrated when natural events no longer control our responses, regardless of how powerful, painful, threatening, or disruptive those events may be. The Holy Spirit brought my attention to the Apostle Paul and his journey to Rome in Acts 27–28.

Paul did not choose the circumstances that unfolded during that journey. Indeed, if he had been permitted to choose based on the foreknowledge the Holy Spirit had given him concerning what was ahead, he would likely have avoided travelling at that particular time to spare himself the tremendous loss, pain, and anguish that followed.

This highlights the priceless value of the Holy Spirit’s guidance because His leading always saves us from enormous pain, loss, and anguish, and His direction is therefore beyond measure. However Paul found himself in circumstances he had not chosen and his wisdom was despised.

Just imagine what they endured including fourteen continuous days in darkness, without seeing the sun, moon, or stars, while being tossed around on the sea by violent winds. They did not even know when a new day was breaking. The storm became so severe that the people aboard eventually concluded that all hope of survival was gone and that death was inevitable.

This message compares in a sense to the ordeal of the Johnson spring rains in Sierra Leone which I experienced, where there are seven consecutive days of heavy rain which can become an exhausting experience of so much water everywhere. Yet even that does not compare with being confined to a ship in the middle of the ocean, completely at the mercy of extreme winds and waves.

The continual complaints people make during such heavy rainfall provide a small glimpse into how difficult it must have been to remain calm during Paul’s fourteen-day ordeal on the sea. Yet Paul remained cheerful, composed, and full of hope throughout the journey.

He did not allow the severity of the circumstances to determine his conduct or composure. Instead, he offered a solution to the devastating situation and encouraged everyone that they would survive after all hope of being saved was lost. Paul declared that there would be no loss of life, although the ship itself would be lost.

Paul could have become angry and responded harshly, complained, or behaved abusively, and from a purely human perspective, people might even have considered such a response understandable. After all, had his warnings been heeded, some of the trauma and loss might have been avoided.

However Paul did not allow the actions of others or the severity of the circumstances to dictate his spirit. His life was not ultimately dependent upon what was happening around him. His life was hidden in Christ. Colossians 3:3 declares that our lives are hidden with Christ in God. Paul had received a visitation from an angel of the Lord whom he served faithfully.

The angel told him what would happen, even though nothing in the physical circumstances had changed yet. The storm was still raging. The ship was still in danger. The darkness was still present. The people were still terrified. But Paul had received a word from the Lord.

Therefore, Paul’s confidence was not based on what he could see. The circumstances did not have to change before his attitude changed because his attitude was governed by the word he had received from the Lord. Since the Lord had declared that Paul would live, Paul was going to live. Everything else would ultimately have to align with that divine reality.

This explains the essence of us walking by faith rather than by sight because nothing can separate us from God’s love. The Holy Spirit’s message is therefore a call for us to choose cheerfulness even in adverse circumstances.

As followers of Jesus we must remember that nothing can separate us from the love of God working for us and in us. Romans 8:35–39 establishes this truth with tremendous certainty by saying that: neither tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, nor sword can separate us from the love of Christ.

Through all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Consequently, there is no reason for us to surrender ourselves to depression, worry, fear, or continual agitation over circumstances.

I declare in the name of Jesus that circumstances will never again govern your response in any situation. You will never again be controlled by what you see, hear, feel, or experience around you because your heart is anchored in Christ, because your life is hidden with Christ in God, and your confidence rests upon the eternal Word of the Lord.

I declare that every spirit of sorrow, heaviness, anxiety, fear, discouragement, and sighing loses its influence over you as the joy of the Lord arises afresh within you. You receive abundant grace to remain cheerful, hopeful, peaceful, and full of faith even when circumstances appear threatening.

Like Paul in the midst of the storm, you will remain steady when others are losing hope because you will hear the word of the Lord above the noise of the storm, and what the Lord has spoken concerning you will come to pass. So no temporary circumstance will overturn the Lord’s eternal purpose for your life in Jesus name. Amen.

Today I share the conclusion to my communion time on the benefits of walking in a Covenant with the Lord.

We are to remember that the Lord provides the necessary correction that leads to us reaping the Harvest the Lord intended for us to have for obeying Him. Isaiah 58 does not leave us the Lord’s people without an answer because the Lord responds to their question about why their fasting was not producing the expected results and shows them what they were doing wrong and how they should correct it.

He gives them the pathway by which they can once again experience the full benefits associated with fasting and devotion to Him. This fact is a demonstration of the Lord’s willingness to correct us rather than abandon His covenant people which reveals clearly that their lack of results did not mean that the Lord had forsaken them. So their question became the doorway to the path of correction, and the correction received became the doorway to their restoration and harvest.

This message therefore encourages you not to become discouraged after you have obeyed the Lord and have not yet seen the expected manifestation of the expected harvest. Instead, you should ask the relevant question of the Lord by seeking the Holy Spirit’s insight. Then allow Him to expose and reveal to you whatever has been missed, misunderstood, neglected, or incorrectly applied.

The goal is not merely to know that something went wrong but to receive the correction that leads to repentance which brings you back into the pathway of the Lord’s intended result which is to recover missed harvests. Endeavour to understand how this principle works to cause you to reap harvests from past bad experiences.

There may be times of fasting, obedience, prayer, giving, or other acts of faithfulness for which you have never seen the corresponding harvest. This message declares with clarity that you should not simply write those experiences off as being lost. Instead, it is time to ask the Lord what happened and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal to you the missing pieces in the puzzle of your harvests.

Remember that with the Lord there can be recovery of harvests from previous seasons of fasting and obedience that you have not yet fully benefited from. So the call is therefore to arise again in the strength of the Lord, by becoming harvest-conscious, and cooperate with the Holy Spirit so that what the Lord intended to produce through your obedience can come into manifestation.

The central word of encouragement to you is this: Do not merely sow and forget about the harvest. Do not obey and then assume that the absence of immediate results means the Lord has refused you. Ask the Holy Spirit your Helper the relevant questions, then receive the Lord’s correction, by making the necessary adjustment, and positioning yourself to reap what He has promised.

Always remember that when the Lord’s promised result has not followed your obedience, don’t quickly conclude that the Lord does not care or does not want to answer you. Ask Him what you have missed because the right question you ask can open the door to divine correction, and divine correction will bring you into the designated harvest.

I declare that the Holy Spirit is awakening in you a fresh understanding of the covenant relationship you have with the Lord. So you will no longer become discouraged when you do not immediately see the results connected to your obedience, but you will have grace to ask the right questions, to hear the Lord’s answers, by receiving His correction, and making every adjustment necessary to come into the manifestation of His promises in your lives.

I declare that every place where you have obeyed the Lord but have not yet experienced the corresponding harvest is coming under the light of the Holy Spirit. So that what you have missed out on will be revealed which ensures that what needs to be corrected will be corrected. Then what needs to be restored will be restored, so that what has appeared lost will not remain lost.

It is time to receive the grace to become harvest-minded in your prayer, fasting, giving, obedience, and every other area in which you sow according to the Lord’s Word. You will no longer faint in the process of seedtime, but you will stand in faith for your harvest. Be open to the Lord of the harvest who is bringing you into the results He intended for you when you obeyed Him.

May the Holy Spirit guide you into the recovery of your prayer and fasting harvests from former seasons, and may all your forgotten or delayed harvests come into manifestation in the now of your life. It is time for you to rise in the strength of the Lord, by walking in divine understanding, and experience the fullness of the Lord’s promised results.

Your obedience will produce fruit, your questions will produce understanding, your corrections will produce alignment, and your alignment will produce the harvest in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today I share the first part of my communion time with the Holy Spirit on the benefits of Covenant with the Lord.

In communion time with the Holy Spirit, the Lord brought Isaiah 58:3 to mind as a powerful example of the covenant relationship between the Lord and His people. This passage reveals something important about one of the greatest privileges available to us the followers and lovers of the Lord which is the ability to have an ongoing conversation with the Lord about His ordinances and how they apply to our lives.

The Holy Spirit has taught me over time that asking the Lord relevant questions about His Word, His instructions, and the results we are experiencing is a priority that can produce tremendous dividends and more substantial God-results.

Isaiah 58:3 says these words: “‘Why have we fasted,’ they say, ‘and You have not seen? Why have we afflicted our souls, and You take no notice?’” The first important observation is that a covenant partner with the Lord understands that obedience to the Lord’s instructions is connected to us receiving the corresponding result or benefit promised.

These people were essentially asking, “Why have we obeyed Your instruction to fast, yet we are not seeing the result we expected?” They were not simply abandoning the Lord because they saw no immediate manifestation. They were bringing the discrepancy in their results to Him and asking for understanding what had gone wrong.

The Holy Spirit then connected this truth with the disciples’ experience in Matthew 17:19, where they privately asked Jesus the question: “Why could we not cast it out?” This question was critical for them, because if the disciples had simply concluded that Jesus did not want to help them, or that the situation was impossible, they would have missed the correction they needed.

Their willingness to ask why they had not obtained the expected result opened the door for Jesus to reveal to them what they had missed. Once they received the appropriate correction, they could obtain the Lord’s result in that present situation and also carry the understanding forward into future situations they would face.

This fact establishes an important principle that when we have obeyed what the Lord instructed and yet do not see the corresponding result, we should seek the Lord for understanding rather than immediately conclude that He does not want to answer us according to His promise. The Lord never instructs His people to do something without purpose and an expected good beneficial outcome.

Therefore, when the expected God-result has not appeared, it is vital to ask, “Lord, what have I missed? What needs to be corrected? Or what is preventing the manifestation of what You have promised?” Returning to Isaiah 58:3, the people were essentially accusing the Lord of failing to notice their fasting because their expectation was that when they sacrificed food for a season in order to seek the Lord, He would see their sacrifice and respond favourably on their behalf.

They believed they had fulfilled their side of the covenant concerning fasting and therefore wanted to know why they were not experiencing the corresponding benefit which is the Lord stepping in to give them triumph. The Holy Spirit therefore emphasised that we the followers of Jesus should continually examine situations where we are not seeing the results associated with the Lord’s instructions for the relevant situation.

So rather than presuming that the Lord is unwilling to answer favourably, we should cooperate with the process by asking Him what has gone wrong and what adjustment is necessary for us to make. This example from 2 Chronicles 20:1-30 reinforces this principle because it demonstrates the power of seeking the Lord in a crisis and the way the Lord responds when His people turn toward Him.

As followers of Jesus we should therefore remain conscious not merely of the seed being sown but also of the harvest the Lord intends to produce from that seed. The central revelation of this message is that we should become harvest-minded in everything we do concerning the Lord. This is because the Lord is not merely the Lord of the seed but He is also the Lord of the harvest.

Genesis 8:22 establishes the continuing principle which reads these words: “While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease.”
Therefore, whenever we sow the Word of the Lord into a situation, we should not stop at only just sowing, but we should expect the harvest that Lord has promised for choosing to sow in obedience to Him.

This reality of sowing and reaping is illustrated clearly by Jesus in Luke 6:38 which reads these words: “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

The truth behind this principle is that giving always carries an expectation of receiving a return. So if a person does not want anything returned, they should not give; but once we give according to the Lord’s Word, we are obligated to expect the promised harvest.

The return is described as abundant by Jesus which is good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over shall men bring into our bosom. Thus, the follower of Jesus should not merely celebrate the act of giving in obedience, but there should also be an expectation of the God-appointed result/ harvest connected with that obedience.

I declare that the Holy Spirit is awakening in you a fresh understanding of the covenant relationship you have with the Lord. So you will no longer become discouraged when you do not immediately see the results connected to your obedience, but you will have grace to ask the right questions, to hear the Lord’s answers, by receiving His correction, and making every adjustment necessary to come into the manifestation of His promises in your lives.

Today I conclude my communion time on girding the loins of our hearts with God’s words.

The importance of our response as we see that the lesson is not simply that Peter received revelation but the critical issue was what Peter did with the revelation. He allowed the Holy Spirit to change his thinking then he girded his mind with the revealed truth and he acted promptly upon what the Lord had showed him.

Therefore because he did so, he became positioned to participate in something much greater than his previous understanding could have ever imagined possible. This reveals to us why our response to Holy Spirit revelation matters so greatly.

The Lord may reveal something that challenges our assumptions, traditions, experiences, prejudices, or established ways of thinking and at that moment, we must choose whether we will defend our existing mindset or surrender it to the truth the Spirit is revealing.

Our obedience can become the doorway through which the Lord’s purpose advances. The Holy Spirit therefore calls us to examine our lives carefully by asking ourselves how am I using my time and what am I doing that is not profitable?

What unnecessary things in my life needs to stop? What has the Lord assigned me to do with the time He has given me? Am I still pressing forward towards that goal, or have I become comfortable because of yesterday’s victories?

Remember the Lord has entrusted each day to us for Kingdom purposes to be accomplished. We are called to remain alert and ready, like the servants Jesus described in Luke 12:35-38. We are to gird ourselves with truth as instructed in Ephesians 6:14.

We are instructed to gird the loins of our minds, remain sober, and rest fully on God’s grace being brought to us according to 1 Peter 1:13. And when the Holy Spirit gives us the revelation, we must be willing to act upon it, as Peter did in Acts 10:9, 34-35, and 44-48.

The goal for us is to remain in the bullseye of God’s will and purpose, and prepared to execute whatever He assigns at the prescribed time. The ultimate desire expressed in this message is that we become increasingly fruitful for the Kingdom as the Father desires us to be to bring Him glory.

We are never to become satisfied with yesterday’s accomplishments and we are not to become passive in our stance because the Lord has already answered prayers or performed mighty works. We must continue pressing in through continued listening for the voice of the Holy Spirit. We must also continue allowing the Holy Spirit to expand our understanding as we continue surrendering our minds to the revealed truth. We must always remain ready to act when the Holy Spirit says, “Now.”

The more completely we allow the Holy Spirit to gird our hearts and minds with His truth, the more effectively we can carry out the things He has assigned to us for the advancement of the Kingdom and the glory of His name.

Therefore, we must meditate on these words repeatedly and returning to the Scriptures and allow them to become established within us. As these truths become part of our life, we will experience a greater expansion of the life of Jesus made available to us and increasing productivity for the Kingdom.

Father, in Jesus name by your grace, teach me how to steward the time you have entrusted to me. Please show me what I must stop doing, and what I must prioritise, and how I can use each day more profitably for Your Kingdom. Holy Spirit, keep me alert and watchful and do not allow me to become comfortable with yesterday’s victories. Please give me more grace to press forward into everything You have prepared for me.

Help me to gird the loins of my mind with truth. Please make me sober, watchful, and ready for action by teaching me how to reject every lie, deception, accusation, and thought that contradicts Your truth. Give me the same humility Peter demonstrated in Acts 10 which enabled him to receive truth that challenges my existing understanding and to obey You without doubting.

Keep me dearest Lord positioned in the bullseye of Your will and purpose, to be ready to execute Your assignments at the appointed time. Let my life produce fruit that remains and continually multiplies the Kingdom of Jesus for Your glory I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.

I declare that the truth I know will become the truth I apply and the Lord’s truth is active in me, making me free and keeping me free. My mouth will declare the truth, my heart will embrace it, and my life will demonstrate it.

Like Peter in Acts 10, I declare that I will not allow old mindsets, traditions, assumptions, or human limitations to prevent me from obeying a fresh revelation from the Holy Spirit. I will go when the Lord says go and I will act when He says act. I will change when He says change and I will obey without doubting.

I declare that every revelation the Holy Spirit gives me will position me for Kingdom advancement. What the Lord reveals to me will not remain dormant but it will produce obedience, fruitfulness, transformation, and manifestation of His promise in my life.

I declare that my obedience will become a catalyst for others to encounter Jesus. So just as Peter’s obedience opened the door for the Gentiles to receive the Holy Spirit in Acts 10:44-48, my obedience will open doors for others to experience the life, power, grace, and salvation of Jesus Christ.

I declare that I am positioned in the bullseye of the Lord’s will and purpose for my life. I am girded, prepared, watchful, and ready so that when the Master comes, He will find me watching, and when He speaks, I will hear. When He commands, I will obey and what He reveals, I will act on in obedience promptly so my life will produce fruit that remains.

I declare that the life of Jesus will expand through me, and my Kingdom productivity will increase, and everything assigned to me by the Holy Spirit to do will be accomplished for the glory of God. I am not finished and I am not settling nor looking backward. I am pressing forward, fully girded with truth, fully surrendered to the Holy Spirit, and fully available for the purposes of the Lord in Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Holy Spirit, during my communion time with Him, brought back to me many truths and reminders about our position in Him and spoke of the responsibility we have to steward what He reveals to us. One of the key questions He raised was concerning how we are prioritising our time: We need to watch what we are spending our time doing, and what things we need to stop because they are not profitable for our lives, wellbeing, or our Kingdom assignment? We have been called to use the time the Lord gives us each day wisely and profitably.

Following the Holy Spirit’s daily leading does not mean we should become comfortable with what has already happened through our lives. We must not rest on our laurels because the Lord has already done mighty things for us but instead, we are to press in for more of what the Lord has prepared for us, by maintaining our already gained spiritual momentum and continuing to advance. The time entrusted to us each day carries a Kingdom responsibility which is to establish and multiply the Kingdom of Jesus through our lives and to produce fruit that remains. Which glorifies the Father.

The Holy Spirit brought to my remembrance Jesus’ words in Luke 12:35-38 which read these words: “Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master…” Jesus describes the servants who remain ready and watchful for their master’s return as being blessed because when the Lord comes and knocks, they are prepared to open the door for Him immediately. Whether He comes in the second watch or the third, the faithful servants are still watching.

This word reveals an important principle for us that although Jesus had taught His disciples about what the Lord had provided and made available to them, He also expected them to respond faithfully in obedience to His instructions. Jesus always pointed out that their faithfulness would be tested at various points in time, and that they would not know exactly when those moments would come.

Therefore, we as His followers cannot afford spiritual complacency because we must remain alert, prepared, watchful, and ready at all times for whatever the Master requires us to do on His behalf. The question is not merely what the Lord has already done for us, but whether we are positioned to respond when He gives the next instruction. Jesus’ command to have our waists girded points to the necessity of us always being prepared for action through truth.

The Apostle Paul emphasises this fact in Ephesians 6:14, where, as part of putting on the whole armour of God, we are instructed to first have our loins girded with truth. The word to gird means in real terms to ready oneself for action by encircling or securing oneself with the truth so that one is prepared to move with it. This means truth cannot merely be something we know intellectually but we must actively establish truth in our hearts and minds.

The enemy on his part continually surrounds us with lies, deception, accusations, and false interpretations. Therefore, we must be confessing and establishing the Lord’s truth with equal or greater intensity in our hearts because we can never defeat lies if we passively tolerate them. We certainly cannot cast down imaginations and high things that exalt themselves above the knowledge of God if we continue to permit them to remain in our thinking process.

So when a thought contradicts the Lord’s truth, we must actively rebuke and reject its right to establish our mindset or control our actions. We must refuse to allow falsehood to pass through our minds unchallenged. The truth that we know and apply is what makes us free and keeps us free. John.8:32 because truth that is not applied remains dormant. It cannot produce its intended effect merely because we have heard or intellectually understood it. That is why Jesus, Paul, and Peter all emphasise the active necessity of us being girded with truth.

Peter makes the same point in 1 Peter 1:13 which reads these words: “Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” Again, this is an instruction which requires action. Peter speaks of the reproductive or productive part of our minds being deliberately surrounded and secured with truth. We are to be sober-minded, not presumptuous, arrogant, foolish, or controlled by careless thinking.

At the same time, we are to rest our hope completely upon the grace that the Holy Spirit brings to us through revelation. This produces a practical spiritual posture where our mouths must actively declare the Lord’s truth and establish it within our hearts so that we are continually prepared to take whatever action the Holy Spirit requires from us when the appointed moment of manifestation arrives.

The preparation must happen before the moment of manifestation arrives, meaning that the girding we do happens before the assignment. The truth must already be established in us before the situation demands a response. Peter’s experience in Acts 10 provides a powerful example of what it means to gird the mind with newly revealed truth. In Acts 10:9, Peter goes onto the housetop to pray around the sixth hour.

Peter first had to take the initiative to pray and engage with the Lord because it is during this time, that he enters into a trance and receives a revelation from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit goes on to confront Peter’s existing mindset and brings him into a truth that he had previously struggled to fully understand that Jesus always taught them. Peter was a Jew, and his established religious understanding would have made the actions he was about to take extremely difficult.

Yet the Holy Spirit was now bringing him into a greater understanding of what Jesus had already been teaching them. So Peter had to gird his mind with this new truth to then take the necessary uncomfortable action. The Holy Spirit essentially brought him to the point where he could obey the instruction to go with the men who had arrived without doubting.

This was a decisive moment in Peter’s life, so Peter could either cling to his previous understanding or gird his mind with the truth the Holy Spirit was revealing and thank God he chose the latter. Thus that one act of submitting his thinking to the Holy Spirit became a catalyst for something enormously significant which was the Gentiles receiving the message of the Kingdom. Peter eventually went on to declare in Acts 10:34-35 these words: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.”

This revelation had enormous consequences because Peter’s obedience opened the way for the reality of salvation through Jesus to be demonstrated among the Gentiles. The truth he received was not merely an intellectual adjustment because it changed the course of his ministry and contributed to making the Gospel available to people beyond the boundaries of his previous understanding.

Then, while Peter was still speaking, the Holy Spirit manifested powerfully. Acts 10:44-48 records that the Holy Spirit fell upon everyone who heard the word. The Jewish believers who had accompanied Peter were astonished because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out upon the Gentiles as well.

They heard them speak with tongues and magnify God causing Peter to respond by saying these words: “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptised who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” He then commanded them to be baptised in the name of the Lord, and they asked Peter to remain with them for several days.

The Lord knew what Cornelius had done in honouring His name and living righteously, and the Lord was determined to reward what He had seen, and Peter’s previous bias could not prevent the Lord’s purpose from being fulfilled. So Peter’s willingness to receive and act upon the truth revealed by the Holy Spirit changed him eternally.

I declare that I am a faithful steward of the time the Lord has entrusted to me. So I will not waste my days on things that are unprofitable, distracting, or contrary to the Lord’s purpose for my life. I receive grace to prioritise what matters to the Kingdom and to use every season wisely.

I declare that I will not rest on yesterday’s victories but I will continue pressing forward into the greater things the Lord has prepared for me. I decree that my spiritual momentum will not stop because I will remain hungry, watchful, alert, and ready for the next instruction of the Holy Spirit.

I declare that my mind is girded with truth and according to Ephesians 6:14 and 1 Peter 1:13, I am prepared for action, sober in my thinking, and fully established in the truth of the Lord. Every lie, deception, accusation, and false thought that opposes the Lord’s truth in my heart is rejected and cast down and it will not control my mindset, words, decisions, or actions.

I declare that the truth I know will become the truth I apply because the Lord’s truth is active in me, making me free and keeping me free. So my mouth will declare the truth, my heart will embrace it, and my life will demonstrate it in Jesus name. Amen.

The central message of this communion time with the Holy Spirit is a reminder of the fact that you are deeply loved and cherished by the Father, so regardless of what has happened in your life recently, the Lord remains firmly on your side as your Helper and Comforter. He has not abandoned you, rejected you, or given up on you. Instead, He stands ready to bring you into victory if you will return to Him and seek His help, guidance, and support.

The Holy Spirit emphasised the fact that one of the greatest struggles we as followers of Jesus face is forgetting that the Lord does not see us the way we see ourselves. So even when we are focused on our failures, shortcomings, and mistakes, the Lord continues to work all things together for our good according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Too often, we dwell too much on our failures and condemn ourselves, by following a destructive trail of negative thinking initiated by the devil that produces fear, instability, timidity, and unbelief.

The Holy Spirit highlighted how this attitude stands in contrast to the confidence the Lord desires for us His children to have in His immutability to fulfil His word to us. In Mark 4:41, after Jesus calmed the wind and the sea, the disciples were filled with fear and amazement, asking, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?” The lesson is that when we focus on the circumstances, failures, and limitations, fear increases, but once we focus on Jesus and His authority, our faith rises.

The Lord does not want us lying defeated on the floor under the weight of condemnation, but He wants us lifted up and riding with Him in His chariots of glory, sharing in His victory and living from the reality of His Kingdom. The Holy Spirit then directed my attention to Jesus’ words in John 4:23–24 which reads these words: “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth.” These words reveal the Father’s heart.

They were spoken to a Samaritan woman whose life was marked by broken relationships and personal failure. She had five husbands and was living with a man who was not her husband. Yet Jesus approached her not with condemnation, but with an invitation into the life He had intended for her to have. This demonstrated the extraordinary love of the Father by showing that He is actively seeking those who will worship Him in spirit and truth and not merely those who possess religious knowledge, theological sophistication, or impressive doctrine, but those who genuinely seek Him as a Person and desire to live in the reality of His righteousness and Kingdom every day.

While studying the Gospel of John, the Holy Spirit contrasted John 3 and John 4 for me, paying particular attention to the difference between Nicodemus and the Samaritan woman. Through this comparison, He revealed how He the Lord views people differently from how human beings often do. Nicodemus on the one hand was a respected religious leader, a teacher of the law, and a student of Scripture. So he believed he understood the Lord because of his knowledge and position in the Jewish community. Jesus engaged him in a conversation about being born again and entering the Kingdom of God.

Yet despite all his learning and religious experience, Nicodemus was left confused and uncertain. He could not fully grasp the life Jesus was offering him because he had information about the law but lacked transformation through relationship. Nicodemus had knowledge on how to keep laws but had not revelation of the truth an as a result, he left Jesus without the confidence or faith necessary to share the message of the truth that we must be born of the Spirit with others. In sharp contrast, the Samaritan woman encountered Jesus and immediately responded to His offer of living water.

Jesus revealed that the water He gives becomes a fountain of life within a person and she gladly received His words with faith, embraced the truth He offered, and experienced a life-changing encounter. The result was immediate transformation to the point that she forgot about the natural water she had originally come to draw because she had found something infinitely greater. She had encountered the source of eternal life Himself.

After receiving this living water which Jesus gives us, she ran back to her city and shared her testimony with everyone she encountered. So because she had personally experienced Jesus, her words now carried life causing the people to listen to her, which prompted them to come to Jesus for themselves, hear His words, and then believe in Him. They drank from the source of living water directly and experienced transformation. Jesus went on to remain with them, teaching and depositing more life into them, and an entire community was impacted because one person had responded to truth.

The Holy Spirit emphasised the fact that this is why the Father seeks those who worship Him in spirit and truth. Such people receive the truth the Lord offers and follow Him wherever He leads and their lives become pathways to greater life, greater joy, and greater Kingdom impact. In contrast with the religious crowd bent on law keeping, there are endless debates about theology, intellectual arguments, and religious discussions which often leave people thirsty, confused, and unchanged. Knowledge alone does not produce life so only true worshippers receive the Lord’s life and become channels through which that life can flows to others.

Jesus’ challenge to Nicodemus highlights this reality because how could a teacher of Israel possess so much knowledge of the laws of God and yet not understand how to bring people into life? Meanwhile, a woman with a troubled past encountered Jesus and immediately became an instrument through which a city was drawn into the Kingdom. The difference was not through education, status, or reputation but the difference was her responsiveness to the truth in faith.

The Samaritan woman received what Jesus offered, while Nicodemus struggled with what he thought he already knew. The Holy Spirit pointed out that this explains why Jesus intentionally waited at the well for the Samaritan woman because He knew that once she encountered truth and life, she would respond positively. He saw beyond her failures, beyond her history, and beyond society’s labels concerning her past life.

He saw a vessel through whom His life could flow to many others and her past did not disqualify her but rather it caused, her encounter with Jesus to transform her into a carrier of living water. This truth should transform the way we as followers of Jesus view ourselves and others because the Lord often chooses people whom society overlooks.

The Lord specialises in healing broken hearts, restoring wounded lives, and transforming those who have experienced failure into vessels of His glory. The Lord values responsiveness to His voice more than religious credentials pointing to the fact that those who have been forgiven much often love much, and those who have experienced the Lord’s mercy deeply are frequently among the most effective carriers of His grace to others.

This message concludes with a prayer that everyone who receives these truths would drink deeply from the living water of Jesus and become carriers of that same life. As we the followers of Jesus allow the Holy Spirit to fill us, the living water within us will overflow to others who are spiritually thirsty. Through this process, a multitude of souls will be restored, through lives transformed, hearts healed, and many brought into the Kingdom of God.

The Holy Spirit desires to lead us the followers of Jesus to those who are ready to embrace Jesus in spirit and truth so that His Kingdom may advance powerfully throughout communities and nations. Ultimately, this message calls for us the followers of Jesus to abandon self-condemnation, by embracing the Father’s love, adopting the Lord’s perspective concerning people, and become living channels through which the life of Jesus flows to a thirsty world.

It is an invitation for us to see people not according to their failures, but according to what the Lord can do through them when they encounter His grace. It is a call to worship in spirit and truth, and to drink from the River of Life, and to become carriers of that life for the glory of God. Father, I thank You that I am loved, cherished, and accepted by You and I declare that no failure, mistake, disappointment, or recent circumstance can separate me from Your love or Your purpose for my life.

According to Romans 8:28, I believe that You are working all things together for my good as I walk according to Your purpose. I renounce every spirit of condemnation, fear, timidity, and self-accusation and I refuse to remain on the floor of defeat, but I receive the grace to rise up and walk with You in the chariots of Your glory. Just as the disciples marvelled in Mark 4:41, I declare that my eyes are being opened to see the greatness of Jesus, who commands even the wind and the sea and whose authority is above every circumstance in my life.

I declare that I am becoming a true worshipper who worships the Father in spirit and truth according to John 4:23–24 because I seek not merely religion, doctrine, or intellectual knowledge, but a living relationship with Jesus Christ. So I receive the righteousness, life, and reality of His Kingdom operating in me daily.

I declare that I will not be like Nicodemus, by relying on my knowledge without transformation. Instead, I will respond like the Samaritan lady, who received the living water Jesus offered and allowed it to transform her life. I choose revelation over religion, relationship over routine, and life over mere information.

I declare that the living water of Jesus is becoming a fountain of water within me, overflowing to everyone around me. I will be a carrier of His presence, His truth, His healing, and His life and those who encounter me will encounter the testimony of Jesus and be drawn to the source of living water.

I declare that the Lord is healing broken hearts, restoring wounded lives, and using those whom the world has overlooked to advance His Kingdom. So I receive His Divine perspective concerning myself and others and I will see people through the eyes of grace and potential rather than through the lens of failure and human judgment.

I declare that nations will serve Jesus in spirit and truth as Souls will be saved, lives will be restored, as joy will break forth, and the Kingdom of God will advance in power and glory. The river of life will flow through me to a thirsty generation, and many will come to know Jesus because of the testimony of His life working in and through me in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Today I conclude my communion time from yesterday on receiving manifested answers to your prayers .

The critical issue for us as followers of Jesus is us knowing where the Lord is leading us to stand in order for us to receive the harvest, rather than allowing our flesh to push us into a place where the results of our prayers are aborted which can be very demoralising. We are not to allow our flesh to abort the harvest of answered prayers. There is a dangerous contrast between praying with tremendous expectation and then failing to reap because of fleshly responses, because we can begin prayer with a high level of expectation and confidence. However if we do not remain spiritually attentive during the waiting period, we can eventually move from high expectation to no expectation.

After praying and waiting for what seems like an endless period without visible results, discouragement can easily take over and this can make things appear like everything has been lost. This transition period from faith-filled expectation to hopelessness is precisely where the enemy wants to take us because it exposes the weakness of the flesh. But the revelation from the Holy Spirit always reveals another possibility that the answer may not be lost at all because the Lord is always willing to help us recover what we have missed or lost. Remember that your prayer answers are never lost because they come from the Lord.

One of the greatest insights from this revelation is the understanding that our prayer answers are not necessarily lost simply because we did not recognise or reap them at the time.

This is because the answers to the prayers are stored with the Lord until we come to Him in the Holy Spirit and discover the path into experiencing the answers here on earth. The Holy Spirit can show us how to cooperate with the Lord so that what has been prayed for can move into manifestation in the natural. This fact means that what appeared to be years of unanswered prayer may not have been evidence that the Lord refused to respond to us with an answer.

There may be prayer harvests that were sown through years of fervent prayer but were never properly reaped because we failed to track the process of answer in the Spirit. So this revelation therefore carries tremendous hope that we can recover answers to prayers that we may have missed over years of praying fervently. We can reap the Lord’s results that were gained when we prayed and bring those results into the realm of manifestation on earth through walking with the Holy Spirit. And when the prayer cycle is completed, the result is always fullness of joy. The effect of this revelation upon the intercessors was immediate.

They had entered the conversation in a place of despondency because of their prolonged experience of praying without seeing the desired results. But when the Holy Spirit opened their understanding and revealed what had been happening, their emotional and spiritual posture changed and they moved from despondency to excitement and great expectation as they became ready to go after their harvests again. This realisation that their prayers had not necessarily been lost transformed their outlook. So instead of seeing themselves as being abandoned by the Lord, they now understood that there was a spiritual pathway they could pursue with the Holy Spirit.

They were now ready to recover their harvests in the name of Jesus under the tutorship of the Holy Spirit which guarantees the miraculous to get the job done. This fact of restoration demonstrates the graciousness of the Lord towards His Own because He does not merely tell us that we missed something but He illuminates our understanding and shows us the way how to recover what we failed to receive previously.

This word is therefore offered as a source of grace for anyone who has become discouraged because of a lack of visible answers to prayer. Please do not allow despondency to convince you that the Lord does not care and do not interpret delay as abandonment by concluding that years of fervent prayer have been wasted simply because you have not yet seen the manifestation of the answer.

Instead, allow the Holy Spirit to awaken you to your spiritual heritage by asking Him to show you how to reap your prayer answers. Ask Him to show you where you need to stand in the spirit and exercise authority over the enemy. Then do what the Holy Spirit guides you to do no matter the cost. Ask the Holy what attitudes, reactions, behaviours, or fleshly responses you made that may have interfered with your ability to receive the harvest, ask Him to teach you how to remain spiritually alert as harvest time approaches.

Remember that the goal is not merely to pray more but it is for you to learn how to walk in closer union with the Holy Spirit throughout the entire prayer cycle. This is because there is a time to sow your prayer requests, then comes the time to watch in the Spirit where you must cooperate with the Holy Spirit and there is a time to reap the answered prayer, and there is a time to rejoice in the manifested answer. The Holy Spirit wants to teach us how to walk through every part of that process so we stop coming short of answers to prayer because the Lord is our answer and also our exceedingly great reward.

This revelation should reignite your resolve to walk more closely with the Holy Spirit because it reminds us that prayer is worth everything. It is worth committing our hearts, our faith, our time, our expectations, and our entire lives to the Lord through prayer as Jesus did in His walk and ministry on earth. Ultimately, we must remember that the Lord Himself is our answer and our exceedingly great reward. Therefore, even when circumstances appear impossible, we continue trusting Him because He is able to make the impossible possible.

We are never to allow the appearance of delay to redefine the Lord’s character in our lives and, we must not allow unanswered questions to make us believe that the Lord has abandoned us. Instead, we are to turn again to the Holy Spirit, who can restore our perspective, reveal the pathway forward, and position us to receive what the Lord has already prepared. The prayer harvests we may have missed are never beyond recovery and the Holy Spirit can guide us to where we need to be, by showing us how we need to respond, and reveal the way we need to walk so that the harvest can be brought into manifestation.

The ultimate purpose of this revelation is not just merely receiving things from the Lord but it is about us experiencing the restoration of the joy associated with answered prayer to fulfil Jesus’s desire for us that our joy may be full which translates to us being strengthened. Therefore, the Holy Spirit wants to lead us into the completion of the prayer cycle so that what was sown in prayer is eventually reaped and experienced in our daily lives. So that what once produced discouragement can become a testimony of triumph.

What appeared to be lost can be recovered and what looked impossible can become a manifestation of God’s mighty hand. What had produced despondency can become a source of excitement and renewed faith as what seemed like an unanswered prayer becomes an opportunity to learn a deeper level of union with the Holy Spirit. So today, receive grace to awaken you from despondency with more abundant grace to pursue the Lord again. Receive grace to learn how to remain spiritually watchful to cooperate with the Holy Spirit to receive the grace to recover the prayer harvests that have remained not manifested.

May the Holy Spirit guide you into where to stand, how to respond, and the way to walk so that the various prayer harvests you have sown may be recovered and manifested in the natural. May the joy you have missed through incomplete prayer cycles be restored and may your resolve to walk with the Holy Spirit become stronger, as you discover again the reality that it is worth everything to pray, trust, wait, cooperate, and to commit your all to the Lord. May you experience the Lord Himself as your answer and your exceedingly great reward in Jesus’ name. Amen.

I declare that every prayer harvest appointed for my life that I have failed to recognise, receive, or reap is being brought back into the light by the wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit. So I receive grace to recover what I thought was lost. In Jesus name I receive grace to return to places of faith where discouragement had pushed me away. I receive grace to pursue the Lord again with fervency and expectation.

I declare that the enemy will no longer turn my waiting season into a season of hopelessness and my earnest expectation will not die, as my faith will not collapse, and my prayers will no longer be empty religious exercises. I declare that I am learning to walk in closer union with the Holy Spirit throughout the entire prayer cycle of sowing, watching, waiting, cooperating, reaping, and rejoicing. I declare that the Lord is showing me where He is, how He is working, and where I need to position myself to receive what He has prepared for me.

I declare that impossible situations are being transformed by the mighty hand of the Lord and what appeared beyond human ability is not beyond the Lord’s ability to overturn because He is the Lord who makes the impossible possible. I declare that the joy associated with answered prayer is being restored back to me, and I will ask, receive, and experience the fullness of joy that Jesus promised. I declare that the years of fervent prayers are not wasted. By the grace and wisdom of the Holy Spirit, I am discovering how to recover my missed prayer harvests and bring God-results into manifestation on earth.

I declare that my passion for prayer being answered is being reignited and my expectation is being restored because my resolve is becoming stronger, as my confidence in the Lord’s faithfulness is being renewed. And above every answer I seek, I declare that the Lord Himself is my answer and my exceedingly great reward. Holy Spirit, please guide me to where I need to be, as you teach me how I need to walk, and show me how to reap every harvest You have prepared.

I will not give up and I will not faint. I will not abandon my place of prayer because I will walk with the Holy Spirit until the prayer cycle is complete and my joy is full as the manifestation of my answers come into being in the natural. My harvest is not lost so my earnest expectation is alive because My Lord is faithful to fulfil His promise of answered prayers, and I will see His mighty hand at work in my life in Jesus’ name, Amen.

I am sharing the first part of my communion time which focused on having answered prayer.

The Holy Spirit continually desires to expand our thought processes, enlarge our desires, and fill us with the Lord’s way of doing things and being right. He wants to bring us beyond our natural ways of thinking so that we can understand spiritual realities and cooperate with Him in experiencing the Lord’s purposes in our lives.

This morning, I was reminded of something the Holy Spirit spoke to me while I was ministering in Freetown, Sierra Leone, to a group of intercessors who had gone through a very difficult season of not receiving answers to prayer. They desperately needed encouragement, strengthening, and lifting so that they could continue meeting together and remain steadfast in interceding for the country.

The message the Holy Spirit gave me for them remains deeply relevant because discouragement is one of the enemy’s strategies for taking the Lord’s people off track because discouragement can make us misinterpret what the Lord is saying. We must understand that when our prayers seem unanswered while problems continue mounting, the experience can become extremely demoralising and heart-wrenching to the point where it begins to look as though the Lord does not care, or that He is deliberately ignoring the situation, or that He has abandoned those who are praying.

However that is certainly not the reality, so the answer is not in us concluding that the Lord has stopped listening. Instead, we must refocus our attention on the Holy Spirit and allow Him to show us the way forward from where we have fallen. The Holy Spirit always has a clear pathway available for us that brings us back to spiritual reality which restores us back to an awareness of how great our God is and how powerfully He is able to intervene in negative circumstances.

The Lord is able to change situations miraculously as He always makes the impossible possible by His mighty hand. Therefore, when discouragement begins to tell us that nothing is happening, we must resist that interpretation and turn our attention back to the asking the Holy Spirit for the necessary wisdom to move forward. He can show us what is happening spiritually and reveal the pathway into the manifestation of what the Lord has promised regardless of where we missed it.

The Holy Spirit gave a particular revelation while teaching these intercessors about “all kinds of prayers in the Spirit” from Ephesians 6:18. The revelation was that prayer is a seed that we sow to the Lord in the Spirit, while the answer to prayer is the harvest that we must also reap in the Spirit. This instantly revealed what had been happening to the intercessors because they had been praying intensely and fervently in the Spirit as they were faithfully sowing their prayer seeds. However, they had become very negligent when it came to reaping the harvest in the Spirit.

It was made clear to them that when the time came for the harvest, they repeatedly responded in the flesh. So instead of remaining spiritually alert and cooperating with the Holy Spirit, they were acting according to the flesh when the harvest was due. This had resulted in strife, arguments, and conflict, amongst them and consequently they were not seeing the results for which they had prayed for happening, because they were sowing continually but were not reaping which revealed clearly that the problem was not that the Lord was unwilling to answer.

The problem was that they were failing to participate with the Holy Spirit in the spiritual process required to receive the harvest. One of the most important parts of the revelation was that they were not watching in the Spirit as the time of harvest approached because although they were spiritually alert when they were praying, they were not maintaining that same spiritual watchfulness when it was time to reap the harvest of answered prayer. Consequently, they were continually caught off guard by the enemy at harvest time.

Their fleshly reactions at critical moments were interfering with the manifestation of what they had been praying for. So when this truth was shared with them, something remarkable happened the eyes of each persons heart were opened and there was a noticeable sense of relief in the atmosphere because they suddenly understood what had been happening.

They realised that their situation did not mean that the Lord had stopped hearing them of had not abandoned them. It became clear to them that their prayers had not simply disappeared but rather, that there was something they themselves needed to change in the way they were cooperating with the Holy Spirit in order to reap the harvest of answered prayers.

The problem was that they had neglected an important part of their prayer process which was contributing to the lack of manifested answers to their prayers. So once they understood this and made the necessary adjustment, through repentance they could return back to the place of walking in answers to prayer and experience the joy associated with answered prayer. Remember that Jesus always connected prayer and answered prayer with fullness of joy in their lives and that the promise of when we ask we receive, so that our joy becomes full.

Therefore, prayer is not intended to leave us permanently in a cycle of always asking, waiting, with no results which leads to disappointment, and despair. There is a complete cycle to prayer which is that we sow, we wait, by cooperating with the Holy Spirit, to reap the answer, so we experience the joy related to the manifested answer.

The revelation of cooperating with the Holy Spirit in reaping the answer to prayer became a source of light and understanding to the intercessors present who received the revelation. Understanding of this process ignited a renewed passion to walk in closer union with the Holy Spirit so that could be properly positioned to reap what the Lord had prepared for them.

I declare that discouragement will no longer take me off course because I refuse to interpret delayed manifestations as evidence that the Lord has abandoned me, ignored me, or stopped caring about my situation. So I boldly declare that my attention is turning again to the Holy Spirit as He is opening my understanding and showing me the way forward by revealing the pathways through which I will cooperate with the Lord and walk into the manifestation of what has been sown in my prayer times.

I declare that my prayers are not wasted and the seeds I have sown in the Spirit are producing a harvest in answers, so I am receiving more grace to reap in the Spirit what I requested from the Lord. I declare that I will not allow my flesh to interfere with my harvest and that I will never again be caught spiritually unprepared when the answer to my prayers comes due and I will remain watchful, discerning, obedient, and sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Where I have reacted in the flesh, Holy Spirit, please show me and where I have missed Your leading, teach me to turn back quickly in repentance. Where I have stood in the wrong place, please reposition me and where I have failed to recognise the appointed harvest time, awaken my understanding.

I declare that every prayer harvest appointed for my life that I have failed to recognise, receive, or reap is being brought back into the light by the wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit for me to now reap in Jesus Name. Amen.

Today I share the conclusion of my communion time with the Holy Spirit.

Do we continue thinking negatively when the Lord is inviting us to learn how He processes situations beyond our human limitations? These questions matter because our willingness to be corrected determines how much we can continue hearing and understanding from the Holy Spirit. The question remains as to whether we will allow the Holy Spirit to change our thought processing to line up with His. The Holy Spirit is asking us whether we are willing to change our thoughts today and embrace a new and fuller truth, or whether we will avoid the areas of confrontation He is asking us to deal with.

Our cooperation with Him is absolutely necessary for us to correctly interpret truth and the Lord’s facts in any situation. I have come to understand that there can be a difference between what the Lord says about a situation and how we interpret that situation through our existing experiences, assumptions, fears, and preconceived ideas. Therefore, spiritual maturity requires us to surrender to His will. We must allow the Holy Spirit to change us from the inside out because He wants access not merely to our outward behaviour but to our entire inner person which includes our minds, our wills, emotions, and our intellect because this is how He makes us new.

This message includes a personal testimony illustrating the importance of humility and dependence upon the Holy Spirit when we hear His voice. I recall vividly the occasion, when the Holy Spirit asked me what would happen when I saw “Jezebel” operating in the church. My initial response was essentially, “I know her now.” Because through Holy Spirit discernment I had previously received concerning the spirit’s operation, I was confident that the situation could be navigated successfully.

That presumed confidence proved to be a big mistake because the reality was that the influence and operation of this spirit within the church had not been fully understood in its fullness and I had assumed I had full understanding. There was another experience of me being hurt in the church because of the deception I had concerning how the spirit was operating through believers or followers of Jesus. The lesson was clear to me that previous discernment does not mean we have complete knowledge for the next situation.

The Holy Spirit later provided another opportunity for me to respond differently when in another situation involving the prophetic arm of the church, the Holy Spirit again asked me what I would do when I encountered “Jezebel” operating through prophecy in the Church. This time my response was different and I asked Him saying: “Lord, I don’t know. Please help me. I am not skilled to deal with such issues.” That response reflected humility and dependence on Him rather than confidence in my personal gift of discernment.

What followed was very significant because the reality of the spirit’s operation within the house of the Lord was far more extensive than I previously understood, particularly within leadership roles in prophetic ministry. What I discovered was startling and could have been crushing on me had I responded by saying I knew its operation. However because the Holy Spirit was allowed to lead me through the events which happened, the outcome was completely different and the experience resulted in the truth triumphing , greater freedom, liberty in the Spirit, and no spiritual defilement in my heart.

This testimony therefore becomes an expression of gratitude from me to: Thank You, precious Holy Spirit, for Your help and guidance which delivered me from so great a conflict. The same kind of situation arose later concerning the apostolic arm of the church when again, the Holy Spirit asked me what I thought about the spirit of “Jezebel” operating within the Apostolic branch of the church. Again, my response was not one of assumed mastery but my response was: Lord: “I don’t know. Please teach me how to walk circumspectly with wisdom to navigate this issue.” This posture of humility and dependence allowed the Holy Spirit to guide me through the process.

Through the Holy Spirit’s leading, much loss and unnecessary leadership conflict was avoided, and the experience became an opportunity for me to be seasoned by the Lord and equipped with spiritual understanding to help bring prisoners to the spirit out into the liberty of walking in the Holy Spirit. The result ended up not simply for my personal preservation but the experience produced spiritual equipment that could be used to help, assist, and aid the Lord’s people in their journey through life by the Holy Spirit.

The emphasis throughout the testimony is that the ability to discern did not come from personal strength or natural expertise. It came through the Holy Spirit and His ability, not merely through human ability making it clear that the positioning of our hearts determines our level of hearing. The central lesson is therefore clear for us all because how we position ourselves before the Lord determines how much we will hear from Him. The level of understanding we can walk in going forward is connected to the degree to which we surrender more of our hearts and souls to Him.

That surrender includes our minds, our wills, our emotions, and our intellects because the Holy Spirit wants to transform us from the inside out. He wants to make us brand new, but this requires our cooperation, so we cannot stubbornly hold onto to our preconceived ideas and simultaneously expect to receive the fullness of the Lord’s truth. If we insist that we already know, we risk missing out on what the Holy Spirit wants to teach us to expand our understanding of spiritual things.

If we keep defending our existing interpretation instead of surrendering it, we can lose access to a fuller understanding of the Lord’s truth and His ways. If we refuse correction, we can hinder our progression into the greater works the Lord wants to reveal to us for this season. Therefore, humility is absolutely essential and the proper posture for us is not, “I know,” but it is: “Lord, I don’t know, but it is Lord teach me, Lord help me by showing me how to walk in wisdom.”

We must embrace the leading of the Holy Spirit because He is the One who causes us to triumph in every area of life. The purpose of Jesus’ coming was that we would have life and have it in its fullest measure. Therefore, we should never settle for merely surviving spiritually, but we should continually pursue the fullness of life that Christ came to give us. This requires us living in a place of complete union with the Holy Spirit and our union with Him is not a one-time experience. It requires a continued daily surrender, continued listening, continued waiting, continued correction, and continued hunger for the things of the Lord.

Every morning presents another opportunity for us to wait at wisdom’s door because every day has something new the Holy Spirit wants to say, and every day has something new the Lord wants us to learn. Every day always presents another fresh opportunity for us to surrender our hearts more deeply to the Lord so we become more conformed to His image and likeness. Thus every day can lead us into greater understanding of the Father’s will.

The Holy Spirit is therefore inviting us into a lifestyle of daily longing for more and not us just merely celebrating yesterday’s revelation, by merely living on yesterday’s victory. We must not assume that yesterday’s discernment is sufficient for today’s situation, and we are not to allow yesterday’s experience to become a substitute for today’s fellowship. Instead, we should wake up each morning with the posture of Proverbs 8:34 which is waiting patiently at wisdom’s doorway and longing to hear the word for the day.

We are to stand watch as Habakkuk 2:1 describes, by being willing not only to hear what the Lord will say, but also to be ready to receive correction. We are to repent quickly and sincerely when the Holy Spirit exposes something that needs to change by quickly releasing our preconceived ideas. This gives us liberty to surrender our minds, wills, emotions, and intellect which allows the Holy Spirit to transform us from the inside out.

And whenever we encounter something beyond our understanding, we must resist the temptation to say, “I know.” Instead, we should say: “Lord, I don’t know. Please teach me how to discern correctly by helping me wait on your wisdom. Then show me by teaching me how to walk circumspectly with the wisdom you give me.” That posture is what creates room for the Holy Spirit to lead us, protect us, correct us, teach us, equip us, and prepare us for the greater works the Lord has in store for us.

This invitation is to go deeper into union with the Holy Spirit so we get to hear more clearly, understand more fully, and walk more accurately in the will of the Father for our individual lives. May these truths as we permit them to take root in our hearts release the grace necessary for us to carry us further in our hearing and understanding the Holy Spirit’s instructions. May we grow closer to Him and enter a much higher and greater level of the knowledge of Lord’s will for our lives. Amen.

I declare that I will wait at wisdom’s doorway every morning with hunger, zeal, passion, and earnest expectation for what the Holy Spirit wants to say to me concerning today. I will not live merely from yesterday’s victories, yesterday’s revelations, or yesterday’s experiences. I receive grace to hunger for the fresh word, fresh wisdom, fresh direction, and fresh grace that the Holy Spirit has prepared for me each day.

I declare that I am the Lord’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works that He has prepared for me to walk in (Ephesians 2:10). So I will position myself to recognise and walk in those good works through fellowship with the Holy Spirit. I declare that my heart is open to correction and I will not make excuses for what the Holy Spirit exposes. I will not deny truth, and I will not stubbornly defend my preconceived ideas. I will not allow guilt, shame, sin, pride, or wrong thinking to hinder my spiritual hearing.

I receive the grace for genuine repentance and a heart that responds quickly when the Holy Spirit corrects me. I declare that my mind, my will, my emotions, and my intellect are surrendered to the Lord. I am being transformed from the inside out and I am becoming increasingly aligned with the truth, wisdom, and purposes of the Lord. When I encounter situations beyond my understanding, I will not rely upon yesterday’s discernment or my own ability, but I will say, “Lord, I don’t know. Please help me. Please teach me how to walk circumspectly with wisdom.”

I declare that the Holy Spirit is my Helper, Teacher, Guide, Corrector, and Counsellor and His ability is working through me, and He is equipping me with everything necessary to fulfil the good works the God has prepared for me to do on earth. I declare that I will hear the voice of the Lord with increasing clarity and I will understand His correction with increasing maturity. I will discern His ways with increasing wisdom and I will walk in greater truth, greater freedom, greater liberty, and greater spiritual understanding.

I declare that the Holy Spirit will lead me safely through troubled waters and difficult circumstances into places of triumph and I will not be spiritually defiled by what I encounter because I am learning to depend upon His wisdom rather than my own. I declare that the zeal of the Lord is increasing within me and just like Jesus, whose zeal for His Father’s house consumed Him (John 2:17), I will be consumed with passion for the Lord and His purposes.

I declare that I will experience the greater works that the Father desires to reveal through and in me (John 5:20-21). I receive grace to experience the fullness of Christ’s life and the reality of His prayer for His people in (John 17:22-26). I will continually position myself before the Lord, by standing upon my watch, to listen for His voice, to receive His correction, and respond in obedience to His correction.(Habakkuk 2:1).

I declare that I am moving deeper into union with the Holy Spirit and I am growing in the full knowledge of the Lord’s will for my individual life. I will not settle for just bursts of partial understanding when the Holy Spirit is inviting me into walk in the knowledge of much greater truth. I say yes, Lord that I want all that You have prepared for me and I surrender more of myself to You.

Please teach me the right things to do, by correcting me where necessary, do a work of transformation in me, then guide me, equip me, and lead me into the greater works You have prepared for me to accomplish on earth to glorify the name of Jesus. I will confidently wait at wisdom’s door, to hear what You say, and walk faithfully in what You reveal to me in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today I am sharing the first part of my communion time with the Holy Spirit on positioning ourselves to walk in the Lord’s ordained miraculous path for our lives.

The Holy Spirit asks us a searching question each morning about What do we long for most each day, and how are we positioning ourselves to receive that desire? There is something the Holy Spirit has available for us in every moment of each day, but the question is whether we are willing to surrender ourselves so completely that He can have reign and rule in our lives.

The Lord has already prepared works, pathways, and purposes for us to walk in. Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works that the Lord prepared beforehand for us to walk in. Therefore, our daily responsibility is not merely to determine what we want to accomplish but to position ourselves to discover what the Holy Spirit has prepared for us for that particular day.

During my communion time with the Holy Spirit, my attention was drawn to Proverbs 8:34 which reads these words: “If you wait at wisdom’s doorway, longing to hear a word for every day, joy will break forth within you as you listen for what I’ll say.” This Scripture has been used by the Holy Spirit over the years to communicate profound truth and provide practical guidance to me for navigating life. Through the grace supplied in the Lord’s promises, there have been pathways created out of troubled waters and difficult situations that ultimately led to safe endings and places of triumph.

However today the Holy Spirit is emphasising something fresh again that we must be willing to wait at wisdom’s door every morning, longing with zeal, passion, and earnest expectation for what He wants to say concerning today. This passion for wisdom cannot become a casual spiritual routine for us but it must become a deep intimate hunger for knowing the Lord. The Holy Spirit I have recognised over the years continually seeks to increase our passion for Jesus. This is reflected in Jesus’ Own zeal for His Father’s house recorded in John 2:17 Which reads these words: “Zeal for the Father’s House has consumed Me.”

The question therefore is not merely whether we were passionate for the Lord yesterday. The question for today is: How desperate are we for what Lord has in store for us today? Yesterday may have been wonderful and yesterday may have contained extraordinary victories, breakthroughs, revelations, or triumphs. However yesterday is gone and the Kingdom of the Lord always has more available for today. We must not become so satisfied with yesterday’s triumphs that we lose our hunger for today’s provision.

We must continue longing with all our hearts for what the Holy Spirit has placed on today’s spiritual menu. This is the burning passion the Lord desires from us which is a continual hunger for more of Him and for what He is planning to reveal for today. Remember that there is always more available in the Kingdom. John 5:20-21 reveals the Father’s heart concerning the greater works to come: “For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.”

The Father was not withholding His best from Jesus but because of His love for the Son, He showed Him what He was doing and promised to show Him greater works so that people would marvel. This reveals something about the Father’s heart which is that He desires to lavish His goodness and His works upon His Son for people to see and marvel. The reality is that what the Father desired for Jesus is also exactly what Jesus desires His followers to experience. John 17:22-26 reveals Jesus’ desire for His followers to share in the glory, love, presence, and union He has with the Father.

Jesus wants His people to experience the reality of His life in them and for us to know the Father’s love. Therefore, our response should be a wholehearted yes to the Lord: by saying these words “Lord, I want to experience everything You have in store for me. I long with earnest expectation for the more You have prepared for me, so give me more grace to go deeper with You so that I can experience all that You have.” This is not greed for earthly things but it is spiritual hunger for the fullness of what Lord has prepared for us to experience here on earth.

The Holy Spirit then intensified the conversation by pointing to Habakkuk 2:1 which reads these words: “I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected.” This passage reveals the importance of our spiritual positioning. Habakkuk deliberately placed himself in a position to hear from the Lord and stood watch because he was confident that the Lord would speak to him. He positioned himself on the rampart and watched for what the Lord would say, but he also recognised the fact that the Lord’s response would include correction.

Our positioning before the Lord is crucial because it affects what we are able to hear from Him. We cannot approach the Lord while stubbornly protecting everything we already believe and expect to hear clearly. We must clear our hearts and souls of whatever could hinder our ability to hear the voice of the Lord in the now. We must deliberately position ourselves each day to listen for what He is speaking concerning today so we can correct ourselves. We must also be spiritually alert and ready to observe what the Lord has placed before us without allowing guilt, shame, sin, or other spiritual impediments to obstruct His voice.

We must be certain of the fact that true, heartfelt repentance is therefore of primary importance in our lives because repentance always reconnects us to the Lord. If we refuse to deal honestly with what the Holy Spirit is confronting in us, our spiritual hearing becomes compromised because our hearts are polluted and compromised by a lack of confidence leading to doubt and unbelief. We must always remember that the Holy Spirit is not merely a Comforter who tells us what we want to hear but He is also the Corrector of false things in our lives.

Habakkuk understood that the important question was not merely, “What will God say?” but also, “What will I answer when I am corrected?” This is because our response to correction determines our forward progression into greater works of the Lord. So when the Holy Spirit reveals something false, unhealthy, sinful, immature, or distorted in us, what do we do? Do we make excuses for our behaviour? Or Do we deny the facts of truth He is showing us? Or Do we defend ourselves rather than surrender to the necessary correction before us? Or Do we just dismiss the “small things” that repeatedly beset us without considering what they are doing to our character?
