Today I am sharing Part One Of a three part Communion time I had with the Holy Spirit.
This morning, during my communion time with the Holy Spirit, He led me into further insight concerning the truth of engaging with Him in order to manifest the God-breathed promise in our lives. The Lord wants us to understand in greater detail what He requires from us so that we can be fully engaged with Him in bringing His promises to manifestation in our lives.
The promise of the Lord is not something we passively wait for while continuing to live according to our own preferences, attachments, relationships, and plans. There is a part we must play in responding to the Holy Spirit. We must therefore listen, obey, separate ourselves from whatever hinders the Lord’s purpose, by denying self, to become fully aligned with His will. We must of necessity listen carefully to the Lord
The Father begins speaking in Isaiah.51:1 & 2 by saying: “Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness, You who seek the Lord: Look to the rock from which you were hewn, And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug. 2 Look to Abraham your father, And to Sarah who bore you; For I called him alone, And blessed him and increased him.”
Notice that whenever the Father speaks, He calls us to listen and pay close attention because what He is about to say is important and cannot afford to miss any part of His communication. The Lord never engages in meaningless or insignificant conversation. His words always carry creative power and what He speaks always create things that previously did not exist and gives life to things that were dead.
This is why every conversation with the Lord must be treated with the utmost reverence and respect because His Word is not ordinary information. It is our most valuable gift in life because His Word creates everything we could ever need for our life and godliness. Therefore, when the Lord speaks, our response should be one of careful listening and prompt obedience. The Father addresses those who follow after righteousness and seek the Lord.
As followers of Jesus, we are called to follow righteousness because Jesus loves righteousness and hates lawlessness and is the King of righteousness. Hebrews.1:8 & 9. We must remember that everything Jesus ever did flowed from righteousness. His actions always proceeded from a righteous heart. Peter made the same principle clear in the house of Cornelius when he said in Acts.10:34 & 35 that God is not a respecter of persons, but whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted.
This means that seeking the Lord cannot merely be a matter of speaking to Him about what we want. The true seeker of the Lord must become a listener, that is someone who waits to hear what the Lord is saying at any given moment. The true seeker understands whose voice needs to be heard, obeyed, and followed in order to have life. The Father then tells us to look to the Rock from which we were hewn. So we are to look to Jesus, our foundation who is the Author and Finisher of our faith.
We must observe carefully who our foundation is and recognize His authenticity. We should remember how He brought us out of the pit we were in, by transforming our perspective, and making us a new creation in Christ. We are also instructed to look to Abraham and Sarah as examples within the cloud of witnesses of those who inherited the God-breathed promise. The story of Abraham is particularly important because it demonstrates what the Lord can do with someone who appears to have nothing.
The Lord called Abraham alone and He separated him from what he knew and from what he held dear and invited him to follow Him into something Abraham could not fully understand naturally. Then the Lord supernaturally blessed Abraham, increased him, and multiplied him phenomenally. The Lord is showing us through Abraham’s life that what He did with Abraham is also a pattern of what He desires to do with us.
I declare that I am a listener of the Lord and I will hear the voice of the Father, receive His Word, and respond with prompt obedience. I will not treat His instructions as insignificant, because I know that His Word carries creative power and gives life to what was dead.
I boldly follow after righteousness and seek the Lord with my whole heart as I look to Jesus, the Rock from which I have been hewn, and I remember the pit from which He brought me out because I will never forget what the Lord has done in my life. I receive the grace to learn from Abraham’s journey and I will not repeat the compromises that caused him unnecessary cycles and delays. I will recognize what the Lord is asking me to leave behind, and I will have the courage to obey it in Jesus name. Amen.
