During my communion time with the Holy Spirit, He spoke from Proverbs 2:21, which declares: “For all my godly lovers will enjoy life to the fullest and will inherit their destinies.” The Holy Spirit emphasised that the Lord’s purpose for every follower of Jesus is not merely survival, but the full inheritance of the destiny and abundant life the Father has prepared for them.
The Holy Spirit continually works in our lives to position us where we can experience the good works the Lord ordained for us and partake of His divine nature. He reminded me of 1 Peter 1:4-5, which teaches that through the new birth we have received an inheritance that is incorruptible, undefiled, and unfading, which is reserved in heaven for us who are protected by the Lord and ready to be revealed through His deliverance.
This inheritance is not subject to our earthly circumstances, human opposition, corruption, or defilement. It remains secure in the Lord. Our responsibility as followers of Jesus is to cooperate with the Holy Spirit, who alone knows where that inheritance is located and how to lead us into its manifestation.
The Holy Spirit impressed upon my heart the importance of learning to hear and follow His voice daily. Just as an earthly inheritance is received by the rightful heir, our heavenly inheritance has already been prepared by our Heavenly Father. To illustrate this truth, the Holy Spirit brought to remembrance my experience of receiving a natural inheritance from an earthly father. That inheritance was not earned through my personal labour because it had already been prepared and set aside by a loving father for his child.
Likewise, the Lord has already prepared an inheritance for His children. If an earthly father can leave an inheritance for his children, how much more will our Heavenly Father provide and manifest the inheritance He has prepared for us?
The Holy Spirit highlighted that the Lord’s promises are not withdrawn from us because of His faithfulness. This aligns with the truth that the gifts and callings of God are irrevocable. The Lord does not change His mind concerning what He has destined for His children. The real danger is not the Lord’s unwillingness to give us our portion, but the enemy’s attempts to deceive us into moving out of position and missing what has already been prepared for us.
While we as followers of Jesus can hinder ourselves from the fullness of our inheritance through disobedience or distraction, the Holy Spirit faithfully guides us back onto the path of life once we repent to where our inheritance can be received. Following the Holy Spirit always keeps us aligned with the Lord’s provision, purpose, and timing.
The Holy Spirit therefore encourages us as followers of Jesus to remember who it is that called us, who it is that ordained us, and what inheritance has been prepared for us by revealing what destiny the Lord has established for us to walk in.
As I continued meditating upon these truths, there came a renewed determination in my heart to rehearse the prophetic words the Lord had spoken over the years concerning my life and to call forth every provision, supply, resource, and grace necessary to fulfil the Lord’s assignment. This included believing for everything required for my life and godliness, for advancing the Kingdom of Jesus, reaching the nations with the Gospel, and raising up people for the glory of Jesus.
It is time to rise from the mat of insufficiency, lack, disappointment, and accusation and begin to embrace the abundant life the Lord has prepared for us. Jesus declared that He came so that His people might have life and have it in its fullest measure. John.10:10. Therefore, we as Jesus’s followers must reject the accusations of the enemy and boldly declare that our Heavenly Father, who owns all things, has already prepared an inheritance for us to have on earth.
Through our faith and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we can begin drawing upon that inheritance now for everything pertaining to our life and godliness. The inheritance of the Lord is what empowers us His children to flourish, prosper, by fulfilling our calling, and accomplishing everything Jesus has destined for us to do for His name sake.
In the name of Jesus, may every accusation, lie, and limitation that has sought to keep you from your inheritance be broken off your life. May the Holy Spirit lead you accurately into every provision, resource, opportunity, and blessing that the Father has already prepared for you. May your ears be sensitive to His voice, your heart aligned with His purposes, and your steps established on the path of life.
I declare that you will not miss out your inheritance, your calling, or your appointed harvest. May every promise the Lord has spoken over your life begin to manifest with renewed clarity and power. May all the provision, favour, wisdom, strength, and supernatural supply come forth for everything pertaining to your life and godliness. May you arise from every place of insufficiency and lack and walk in the fullness of the abundant life Jesus purchased for you.
May you flourish, blossom, succeed, and bear lasting fruit for the Kingdom of Jesus. May you inherit your destiny, by fulfilling your divine assignment, and experiencing the goodness of your Heavenly Father in the land of the living. So arise and go forward in this might, to possess all that the Lord has ordained for you, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
